Google announces Bard to take on CHatGPT!

"Google Presents" is set to be Livestreamed on February 8th, Will we Learn More?

Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai announced today the release of Bard, an experimental conversational AI service powered by Google’s language model for dialogue applications (LaMDA). Bard aims to bring together the vast amount of information available on the web and the power of LaMDA to provide high-quality responses to users. The initial release will be with a lighter version of LaMDA that requires less computing power, allowing for more scalability and feedback from users.

Pichai explains that AI has the potential to revolutionize the way people interact with information and to turn it into useful knowledge. Google has been using AI to improve its search engine for years, and now with the latest AI advancements, the company is looking to bring these benefits into its products. The CEO highlights how AI can simplify complex information, synthesize insights, and help people quickly understand the big picture of a topic.

“Bard seeks to combine the breadth of the world’s knowledge with the power, intelligence, and creativity of our large language models,” Google Chief Executive Sundar Pichai twitted Monday. “It draws on information from the web to provide fresh, high-quality responses.”

Pichai also discussed the company’s commitment to bringing AI into its everyday products, starting with Search. He stated that AI can deepen people’s understanding of information and turn it into useful knowledge more efficiently, helping people to find what they’re looking for more easily. He also shared that soon AI-powered features will begin rolling out in Google Search, which will distill complex information and multiple perspectives into an easy-to-digest format.

Additionally, Pichai talked about how Google is helping developers innovate with AI, by making AI tools and platforms accessible and easy to use. He stated that the company is focused on developing AI technologies in a responsible manner that ensures the privacy, security and ethical considerations of people and society.

Starting today, Bard will be accessible to a group of “trusted selected” testers as stated by the CEO, and then it will be made available to the general public in the upcoming weeks.
