VW plans to produce 44k ID.Buzz this year

The VW ID Buzz is an electric minivan that pays homage to the iconic VW Bus of the past. The vehicle is based on the MEB platform and features a futuristic design with a V-shaped hood, a honeycomb front bumper, LED lights and a two-tone color scheme.

The ID Buzz will be available in two sizes: a standard wheelbase version for Europe and a long-wheelbase version for the U.S. market. The U.S.-spec model will have a bigger battery, a more potent drive unit and a longer range than the European model.

Volkswagen plans to start production of the ID Buzz in 2023, with a target of 44,000 units for the first year. The company expects high demand for the electric minivan, especially from commercial customers who can benefit from its spacious interior, versatile seating and advanced technology.

The ID Buzz will be revealed in the U.S. in summer 2023 and will go on sale in 2024 with a starting price of around $60,000.
