Kia has unveiled the 2024 Kia EV9, a mid-size three-row electric SUV that will be available in America later this year. The EV9 boasts dimensions that are almost identical to the gas-powered Kia Telluride, with a blocky design that sets it apart. The interior of the EV9 is expected to be more spacious than the Telluride, with exact measurements still to be released.

The base EV9 features a single electric motor mounted on the back axle, paired with a 77.6-kWh battery pack. Meanwhile, the EV9 GT-Line has an electric motor on each axle, creating an all-wheel-drive system that combines to make 379 hp and 442 pound-feet of torque. The EV9’s 800-volt electrical architecture allows for quick charging times.

Kia plans to expand the breadth of the EV9’s driver-assist technology in the future, including the lidar-based Highway Driving Pilot system for Level 3 autonomous driving. Early adopters of the Kia EV9 will have access to a new digital key and remote parking assist. The 2024 Kia EV9 is expected to start around $55K, although not confirmed yet.
