Ford Unveils 2024 F-150 With New Design, Features and Hybrid Powertrain

The PowerBoost Hybrid combines Ford's 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine with an electric motor and battery pack.

Detroit, MI – Ford unveiled the 2024 F-150 pickup truck yesterday at a special event at their headquarters in Detroit, giving the public their first look at the redesigned and upgraded new model. The reveal of the 2024 F-150 comes after months of anticipation and buzz surrounding the newest generation of Ford’s perennially best-selling truck.

According to Ford, the 2024 F-150 represents “the toughest, most productive F-150 ever” with major changes both inside and out intended to improve capability, technology, comfort and efficiency.

On the outside, the most noticeable change on the 2024 F-150 is the completely restyled front end. It gets Ford’s new signature large black grille, streamlined headlights and a more contoured and sculpted hood. The body lines have also been tweaked to be more athletic and aggressive. At the rear, Ford redesigned the tailgate to allow for easier access to the bed. New steps, handles and lighting make cargo loading simpler.

Inside the cabin is where the 2024 F-150 sees the most dramatic upgrades. The interior features an all-new dashboard design anchored by a prominent landscape-oriented touchscreen infotainment system. Vents and controls were redesigned for a cleaner look, while materials and finishes were upgraded across the board. The 2024 F-150 is also Ford’s first truck to get the new digital instrument cluster which provides vibrant graphics and animations.

New feature highlights on the 2024 F-150 include:

  • Pro Access Tailgate with mid-gate and tailgate work surface configurations to make loading lumber, equipment and other long items easier. The tailgate can also quickly convert into a workstation complete with clamp pockets and holders for phones, tablets and cups.
  • 12-inch head-up display with animations that projects speed, navigation directions and driver assist notifications directly onto the windshield in the driver’s line of sight, allowing them to keep their eyes on the road.
  • Ford BlueCruise 1.2, Ford’s advanced hands-free driving assistant that allows drivers to operate the F-150 hands-free on pre-mapped sections of divided highways called Hands-Free Blue Zones. The system uses camera, radar and lidar sensors to monitor lane lines and surrounding traffic.
  • PowerBoost Hybrid powertrain option combines Ford’s 3.5-liter EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 engine with an electric motor integrated into the transmission plus lithium-ion battery pack to deliver 430 horsepower and a massive 570 lb-ft of torque. The hybrid F-150 can tow up to 12,700 pounds.

Ford will offer the 2024 F-150 in a wide range from work truck XL models all the way up to ultra-luxurious Limited trim. Returning off-road and performance variants like the Tremor, Raptor and Raptor R were also confirmed.

The 2024 Ford F-150 will start arriving at Ford dealerships across the country in early 2024 as a 2024 model year vehicle. Pricing details will be announced closer to the on-sale date. Expect momentum and excitement to continue building for the best-selling truck in America’s most popular vehicle segment.
