Acura Goes Electric with 2024 ZDX EV

ZDX features a combined 22-inches of high-definition digital screen real estate with a standard Precision Cockpit Driver Information Cluster

Acura is entering the all-electric vehicle market for the first time ever with its 2024 ZDX EV. This exciting new SUV will be Acura’s first battery-powered model when it hits showrooms next year.

The ZDX EV will ride on General Motors’ advanced Ultium platform and will be assembled at GM’s plant in Springhill, Tennessee alongside the upcoming Cadillac Lyriq. It will be offered in two variations: the performance-focused A-Spec and the even sportier Type S.

The A-Spec will come with a single electric motor producing 340 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque. It should deliver an EPA-estimated 325 miles of range per charge. The dual-motor Type S model ramps things up to 500 horsepower and 470 lb-ft while still providing an ample 315 miles of range.

Both ZDX models will come standard with Acura’s SH-AWD all-wheel drive system. They will also feature cutting-edge 800V battery architecture that enables DC fast charging. Using special 350kw chargers, drivers can add up to 81 miles of range in just 10 minutes of charging.

On the outside, the 2024 ZDX EV sports a sleek, coupe-like silhouette with a dramatically sloping roofline. Signature Acura design cues include the brand’s diamond pentagon grille, JewelEye LED headlights and Chicane LED taillights.

Inside, passengers are treated to a modern, luxurious cabin. Highlights include Acura’s 12.3-inch True Touchpad Interface with haptic feedback and a 10.2-inch HD center display screen. Integrated Google built-in provides intuitive voice commands and seamless smartphone integration.

Acura has not announced official pricing yet, but expects the ZDX EV to start around $60,000 for the A-Spec and $70,000 for the range-topping Type S.Deliveries to customers are scheduled to begin in late 2024.

With its enticing blend of performance, innovation and luxury, the new ZDX EV looks to be a compelling addition to Acura’s all-electric future. Interested buyers can expect an exciting competitor to the likes of the Tesla Model Y, Audi e-tron and Jaguar I-Pace when it arrives next year.
