Buffalo Bills’ Damar suffered a cardiac arrest on Monday Night Football, the NFL postponed the game.

The NFL star sustained a major injury during the Monday Night Football game in . The league has released a statement about the postponement of the game.

On Monday, the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals were set to face off in a Monday Night Football game. However, the game was called off after Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin sustained a serious injury. During the first quarter, Hamlin made a tackle on Bengals player Tee Higgins and collapsed to the ground afterwards.

Medical staff immediately rushed to his side and administered CPR, before transporting him to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center by ambulance. Hamlin’s condition was initially critical, but his vitals returned to normal later in the evening according to a Jordon Rooney’s post on twitter who is a close friend and marketing representative.

Both teams were visibly distressed by the injury and players formed a protective circle around Hamlin as medical staff tended to him. After Hamlin left the field, the Buffalo Bills players knelt together in a circle and returned to the sideline, with the defense going back on the field to continue the game. Buffalo wide receiver Stefon Diggs gathered the team together for a talk.

However, instead of continuing the game, Cincinnati Bengals coach Zac Taylor approached Buffalo Bills coach Sean McDermott and met with the game officials. The decision was then made to temporarily halt the game, which the Bengals were winning 7-3, before the league ultimately decided to postpone it.
