Los Angeles, CA – EV startup Canoo Inc. has unveiled its latest model, the American Bulldog electric vehicle. Designed for versatility, the American Bulldog aims to serve both work and recreational needs with ample cargo space, a spacious interior, and a rugged exterior.
The new vehicle is based on Canoo’s existing Screaming Eagle platform which was delivered for testing to the U.S. Army last year. It features a distinct honeycomb body providing structural strength, as well as advanced steer-by-wire and brake-by-wire technologies for precise handling.
“Like the American Bulldog breed of dog, this vehicle is loyal and courageous. It’s woven into the American spirit and reflects the country’s innovation,” said Canoo Executive Chairman and CEO Tony Aquila. “When we say ‘Made in America,’ we mean it.”
Packing plenty of tech, the American Bulldog offers a high-tech cabin with the latest connectivity, up to 300 miles of range per charge, and driver assistance features including lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control.
It can tow up to 2,500 pounds with its electric powertrain. Pricing for the American Bulldog starts at $39,995 and it is available for pre-order now, with deliveries expected in early 2024.
“Whether you need to haul equipment to a job site or gear on a weekend getaway, the American Bulldog is the total package for work and play,” added Aquila. “It’s versatile, efficient, well-equipped and competitively priced.”
With its adaptable design and innovative features, Canoo aims to make the American Bulldog EV attractive to a wide range of business and personal mobility needs. The company was founded in 2017 and is based in Torrance, California with a mission to develop affordable and sustainable electric vehicles. The American Bulldog marks Canoo’s transition from testing and development to the production of its first consumer-focused model.
