Kia has opened orders for its highly anticipated 2024 EV9, the brand’s first three-row all-electric SUV. Customers can now place a refundable $750 reservation for the EV9 on Kia’s website, with pricing for the base Light RWD trim starting at $54,900 before any applicable tax credits or incentives.
Slated to arrive at Kia dealerships nationwide in Q4 2023, the 2024 Kia EV9 will be offered in four trim levels: Light RWD, Light Long Range RWD, Wind AWD, and GT-Line AWD. The entry-level Light RWD comes equipped with a 77.4-kWh battery pack and a single 215-hp electric motor providing 220 miles of driving range. Stepping up to the Light Long Range RWD upgrades the battery capacity to 104.2-kWh for 300 miles of range.
The Wind AWD and GT-Line AWD trims both utilize a dual-motor all-wheel drive system paired with the larger 104.2-kWh battery, with the Wind producing a combined 317 hp and 446 lb-ft of torque for 280 miles of range. The high-performance GT-Line generates a substantial 576 hp and 745 lb-ft, propelling the EV9 to 60 mph in under 4 seconds. However, the added power comes at a cost of reduced range, with the GT-Line AWD rated for 260 miles on a full charge.
All 2024 Kia EV9 models come equipped with the brand’s E-GMP platform featuring an 800V electrical architecture that enables ultra-fast charging. Kia states drivers can replenish the battery pack from 10% to 80% charge in under 25 minutes using a compatible DC fast charger. The EV9 also provides a comprehensive suite of standard advanced driver aids like forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and lane keeping assist.
Kia is offering incentives to encourage early reservations for the 2024 EV9. Customers who place a deposit before November 27, 2023, will receive gifts including a portable 240V EV charger, a 3-year maintenance plan, and 1 year of Kia’s digital services. With seating for up to 7 or 8 passengers depending on configuration, the EV9 will be Kia’s flagship electric SUV appealing to growing families seeking zero-emission transportation. Production is slated to begin in Q4 2023, with delivery to customers before the end of the year.
