At the 2023 Oscars, several films took home multiple awards. The German film, All Quiet on the Western Front, won in four categories, including Best Original Score, Production Design, Cinematography, and International Feature.
The Whale’s Brendan Fraser was named Best Actor in a Leading Role, while Top Gun: Maverick won Best Sound, and Avatar: The Way of Water won Best Visual Effects. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever took home an Oscar for its Costume Design, and Sarah Polley won the award for Best Adapted Screenplay for Women Talking. Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio was named Best Animated Film.
Everything Everywhere All at Once was the big winner of the night, winning Best Picture and Best Directing for Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert. Michelle Yeoh won Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in the same movie. Navalny won Best Documentary Feature.
Jimmy Kimmel hosted the ceremony for the third time, and performers included Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and Lenny Kravitz, among others.
