Ram has just unveiled the specs of its first-ever all-electric truck, the Ram 1500 REV. Built on the new STLA Frame platform, this zero-emission pickup truck promises exceptional performance, towing and payload capabilities, and an impressive driving range.
The Ram 1500 REV is equipped with a standard 168 kilowatt-hour battery pack that delivers an estimated driving range of 350 miles, while the optional 229 kilowatt-hour large battery pack can provide an unsurpassed-in-class driving range of up to 500 miles. The truck can launch from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds and has a maximum payload capacity of 2,700 pounds and a maximum towing capacity of 14,000 pounds.
The Ram 1500 REV is available in five trims: Tradesman, Big Horn/Lone Star, Laramie, Limited, and the all-new Tungsten trim, which raises the benchmark for upscale pickup trucks with new premium available features. The exterior of the truck boasts a bold grille design with an illuminated Ram badge, dynamic details, signature lighting, and charging identification lights. It also features a game-changing frunk with an onboard power panel that provides up to 3.6kW and 15 cubic feet of storage space with secure, weatherproof protection.
The interior of the Ram 1500 REV is equipped with advanced technologies, luxurious refinements, and superb comfort throughout the cabin. The truck features a large touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, a head-up display with augmented reality navigation, a wireless charging pad, and a premium sound system.
The Ram 1500 REV also comes with innovative technology features, such as Hands-Free Active Driving Assist, which maintains a set speed and a safe distance from vehicles ahead via sensors, cameras, and radar, and One Pedal Driving Mode, which brings efficiency to the forefront by autonomously regulating the output of the electric drive motors.
The Ram 1500 REV can handle three different levels of charging and is compatible with Level I, Level II, and Level III chargers. It can charge 110 miles in just 10 minutes with 800V fast charging.
The Ram 1500 REV is expected to compete with other electric trucks in the market, such as the Ford F-150 Lightning, the Tesla Cybertruck, and the GMC Hummer EV. The pricing and availability of the Ram 1500 REV have not been announced yet, but interested customers can reserve their place in line by paying a $100 refundable membership fee.
