SpaceX made history on March 17, 2023, by launching two Falcon 9 rockets into orbit within four hours of each other. The first rocket lifted off from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California at 3:26 p.m. EDT, carrying 52 Starlink satellites for SpaceX’s internet constellation.
The second rocket blasted off from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida at 7:38 p.m. EDT, deploying two SES communication satellites for digital broadcasting services in North America.
Both rockets successfully landed on droneships “Of Course I Still Love You” and ” Just Read The Instructions” in the ocean after delivering their payloads to their respective orbits.
This was the first time that SpaceX achieved such a rapid launch cadence, demonstrating its operational efficiency and reusability capabilities.
