The EV week in review!

Hyundai fixes battery issues.

The electric vehicle (EV) industry is constantly evolving, and this week was no exception. Leading brands made a slew of announcements and updates, showcasing the latest advancements in EV technology and design. Here are some of the highlights:

Firstly, Ford made headlines with its announcement that it expects to turn a profit on EVs by 2025, despite currently losing money on them. The company also revealed plans for a new electric truck, codenamed Project T3, which will be built at its future BlueOval City EV mega-campus.

Luxury EV maker Lucid Motors also had some news to share, confirming that its flagship Air sedan will now come standard with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, further enhancing its impressive connectivity suite. The company also delivered its first Air Dream Edition Performance models to customers, boasting an impressive range of 520 miles and a top speed of 168 mph.

Kia, on the other hand, unveiled its new EV5 electric SUV concept, which showcases the brand’s new design language and technology. The compact crossover is expected to offer a range of over 300 miles and support fast charging up to 350 kW, making it an exciting addition to the EV market.

Tesla also made headlines with its latest software update, which activates the vision-based park assist feature. This technology uses cameras to detect obstacles and guide the driver into parking spaces and is part of Tesla’s transition from radar to vision for its Autopilot system.

Finally, Hyundai reported that its Ioniq 5 electric SUV is proving to be a success in Europe, attracting customers from premium brands with its spacious interior, futuristic design, and advanced features. The company also identified and fixed the 12V battery drain issue that affected some units.
